Welcome / Croeso
My name is Angharad Jenkins. I'm a musician, composer, teacher and project manager from Swansea, south Wales. Basically, I'm a freelance creative, that turns her hand to anything! I love what I do as a career. Every day is different and I'm lucky that my work often gives me a free pass to travel and explore the world. But all this will soon change as I've recently discovered that there's a baby on it's way!
Yes, you read that correctly! I am preggers. There's a bun in the oven. I'm manufacturing a human. However you like to say it, there's a baby brewing in there, and it's going to have a humongous effect on my life and career. I'm excited, but also nervous about how my career and life will inevitably have to change in order to make way for this little human being.
I'm not the first, or the last to go through pregnancy and motherhood, so this definitely won't be another mum-blog. There's a hell of a lot of great advice out there which I'm starting to absorb myself. But there's not so much out there for women in my situation as a self-employed musician. Over the next few weeks, months and years, I'm going to concentrate on how I intend on managing my chaotic lifestyle to fit into a different rhythm. Is it going to be possible? Or am I going to have to give up on my life's dreams and ambitions to become a stay-at-home mam? What will I even want when the time comes?!
There's so much uncertainty about the future that I'll leave you with a series of emojis which perhaps describe better how I'm feeling right now.
If you're in the same boat, I would love to hear from you!
